This is a good product. I ended up ordering two to hook up my macbook pro into my apple Hi Fi stereo and it worked great until the tip of one of the fiber optic cable adapters broke off. They are fragile, so use caution when handling this item, but otherwise it produces excellent sound quality when used in appropriate applications.
I inserted it into my MacBook Pro's audio out jack, and it somehow damaged something inside. This adapter works, but the build and quality are bad. Now regular 3.5 mm analog audio devices (e.g. Others complained that the size of their adapter was too small. Unfortunately, mine was way too big. my apple earphones) fit very loosely and do not make a clicking sound when inserted. This product does not follow the most basic of standards of shape and dimension for a product like this. Also, even though the image depicts two adapters, the price shown is only for one adapter.
After doing some research, I purchased this adapter and connected my HP Pavilion dv6000 series laptop to my surround sound system. This works great.
there is NO difference between this and a monster brand adapter unless you like paying for things you dont need
got the adapter and it would not work. must not have been totally shaved off or something. I kept looking and trying to figure out why and low and behold there was something deep inside it that was in the way of the light. It looked like a piece of the plastic or something. got a pen and was able to get rid of the blockage. works great now.used on an apple airport express for streaming itunes
